Three villages inundated in Khulna

Khulna, Aug 20 (BDNEWS) - Over 1,000 people of three villages under Dumuria upazila have been marooned after water entered overflowing the river Buri Bhadra.

Due to the effect of the full moon, the water of the river overflowed damaging the embankment.

According to witnesses, more than 150 families of Jaliakhali, Chandghar and Britti Birala villages took shelters in neighbouring villages.

All the educational institutions, mosques and temples were declared closed due to the flood.

Officials from Water Development Board visited the area.
