Dhaka, Nov 12 (bdnews24.com) – The deadline for submitting income tax returns comes to an end on Thursday after it was twice extended.

According to income tax order, individual tax payers have to submit their tax returns within September each year. Like the previous years, this time the deadline was extended first until Oct 31 and later until Nov 12.

National Board of Revenue chairman Nasiruddin Ahmed is expected to brief the press on income tax return submissions later in the day.

NBR is hoping this year's tax returns will cross last year's figure, which was Tk 7.39 crore.

There are more than 22 lakh holders of TIN (Tax Identification Number) in the country.
