Man held with Tk 40 lakh in foreign currency at Ctg airport

Chittagong, Nov 21 (bdnews24.com) – A UAE-bound Bangladeshi was arrested with foreign currencies worth Tk 40 lakh at Chittagong airport Friday night.

Shah Alam, from Rauzan, was challenged by airport security and police while checking in for a flight to Sharjah at the Shah Amanat International Airport, police said.

Naser Ahmed, officer-in-charge of immigration police, told bdnews24.com the money found in his bag included Euros and currencies of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

Alam was taken to Patenga Police Station and a case was filed, the police officer added.
