Dhaka, Nov 23 (bdnews24.com)--Senior BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury on Monday was stopped going to Singapore, his younger son said.

Hummam Quader Chowdhury told bdnews24.com that immigration officials at Zia International Airport prevented his father from going abroad.

He also quoted airport officials as saying that his father, an MP, needed to secure a court's order to go abroad and that they were on orders from the government high-ups to not let him go.

He also said his father wanted to go to Singapore on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 6pm after contacting doctors at Mount Elizabeth Hospital there.

Salauddin Quader Chowdhury faces charges of war crimes in cases filed across the country.
