Dhaka, Nov 25 (bdnews24.com)– Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday headed for Port of Spain to join the Commonwealth Summit beginning on Friday.

Hasina started for the capital of Trinidad and Tobago on an Emirates flight at 10:10pm.

Queen Elizabeth II, head of Commonwealth, will inaugurate the summit at the cultural centre of the island.

Fifty heads of government will join the three-day summit that will focus on some specific issues and will take indifferent policies on some recent incidents.

The last meet was held in Uganda, with the first taking place in 1971.

Foreign minister Dipu Moni, ambassador M Ziauddin, foreign secretary Mohamed Mizarul Qayes, high commissioner to England M Saidur Rahman Khan and prime minister's press secretary Abul Kalam Azad are accompanying Hasina.

She will return on Dec 4 after taking breaks in London and Dubai.
