Dhaka, Mar 9 (bdnews24.com) – BNP secretary general Khandaker Delwar Hossain returned home on Tuesday night after a month of medical treatment at Singapore's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The senior opposition figure landed at Shahjalal International Airport on a Singapore Airlines flight at 10.40pm.

Delwar, on landing back in Dhaka, immediately criticised the government's recent removal of Zia Rahman's name from numerous establishments including the international airport.

"They are working to go one step beyond even Baksal ('one party') rule," he alleged.

"The parliament has become an institute for spreading negative propaganda. But the people will not accept this," said the BNP stalwart.

He thanked the nation for "praying for [his] recovery". Delwar left for Singapore on Feb 7 for treatment of physical complications including cardiac ailments, diabetes and kidney problems.
